Join us for the March 29th to tell Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife to keep Nestle out of the Gorge! Bark has joined forces with national and local groups and will be delivering over 3,000 petitions to ODFW Director Roy Elicker. We are asking him not to move forward with the water rights exchange that would pave the way for Nestle's proposed water bottling facility.
Nestle wants to bottle spring water that ODFW uses for a fish hatchery. ODFW is considering exchanging part of its water right to the spring water with the city of Cascade Locks so the city could then sell the spring water to Nestle. There is much more information about the bottled water industry at Food & Water Watch's website, www.fwwatch.org.
Please attend a press conference on the 29th at 11:15 AM at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Clackamas Office right off of I-205 (17330 SE Evelyn St, Clackamas, OR 97015). For more information or transportation, contact Julia at Food & Water Watch (jdegraw@fwwatch.org or 503-241-6556.)
