Giving Tuesday!

It's Giving Tuesday! Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Bark is setting our Giving Tuesday goal at $2,000. This is approximately the cost of running a year of Bark Abouts, our free, monthly public hikes. Bark Abouts have been a core part of Bark's work for over fifteen years and have connected thousands of people to Mt. Hood's forests. Bark's staff trains about a dozen new volunteers each year on how to lead hikes and educate people on logging impacts, forest policy, and the ecology of our region. Our volunteer hike leaders then continue to pass this information on to people on the hike, as well as to many more viewers through our regular cable access television show, Bark for Mt. Hood, that's produced from the hikes. You can find out more about our hikes.

Please donate today to reach our goal and then share your love of Bark by posting the image below on your favorite social media outlet.

Thank you!!
