April Bark About Hike: North Clack Timber Sale

Sunday, April 14, 2019 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

Join hike leaders Audie and Tara on our April Bark About hike to the proposed North Clack Timber Sale in Mt. Hood National Forest. Here we will visit areas of this project that were groundtruthed by Bark volunteers and found to contain sensitive forest habitat, and protected species like the red tree vole. We'll discuss the ecology of the area and the current proposal by the Forest Service to bring damaging clearcuts into this important landscape. This outing will include 2-3 miles of walking on both road and through forest, with an option for more challenging off-trail exploring.

Carpools leave from the Hollywood Grocery Outlet, 4420 Ne Hancock Street, (a few blocks from the Hollywood Transit Center, at the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver.  If you would like to arrange a meet-up closer to the forest, please let us know by giving us a call at our number below.

Bring a lunch, water, and anything else you'll need to stay comfortable in the forest. To protect off-trail resources, we ask you to leave your dog at home.

Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.

If you are willing to drive in our carpool, please review Bark's Driver Safety Expectations before coming.
