December Bark-About Hike

Date:
Sunday, December 9, 2012 - 9:00am

Over the past three years, Bark’s advocacy on the Airstrip Timber Sale has forced the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to reduce the logging proposal from 325 to 207 acres, and eliminate 45 acres of proposed clearcuts. We have continued to work hard to protect the remaining old growth features in the sale, which form the only remaining pocket of old growth for miles around the sale location. Join Brenna Bell, Bark’s staff attorney who will explain the ins and outs of Bark's lawsuit on Airstrip and how legal work is a crucial part of protecting the forests of Mt. Hood.

Carpools meet at the Hollywood Trader Joe's, 4121 NE Halsey in Portland at 9am sharp. It is across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver.

Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.
