March Bark About Hike: Springtime Emergence

Date:
Sunday, March 10, 2019 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

Winter is transitioning to spring. We see this all around us and within us. Let's honor the change in the seasons by getting out into the forest to observe and reflect upon it. We will hike in the Salmon River Watershed within the Wildwood Recreation area through forests and along waterways as we discuss who calls this place home. As we learn and talk about ecology, we will also take time to be with our inner ecology. Inspired by many peoples and traditions who have found the forest to be healer and teacher, we may move slower, cultivate moments of silence, engage in simple meditation, and allow ourselves space & time to be. We will discuss the ZigZag Timber Sale proposed for 2020 and write letters to the Forest Service. So as the forests supports & sustains us, we raise our voices to support & advocate for the forests we hold dear.

Remember that Sunday is Daylight Savings - so remember to spring forward so you can make it out in time to enjoy the hike!

Carpools leave from the Hollywood Grocery Outlet, 4420 Ne Hancock Street, (a few blocks from the Hollywood Transit Center, at the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp.
