Mother's Day Bark About Hike: Forest Fairies + Friends

Date:
Sunday, May 12, 2019 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

What happens to the homes of the fairies and their friends when a forest is logged? In this family-friendly and child-oriented outing into a planned timber sale, we will look for signs of the rarely-seen dwellers of the forest: fairies, red tree voles, apoldontia, salamanders, and others. We will use observation and imagination to learn about forest ecosystems. Using only found and fallen materials, we will build homes to invite fairies back to the forest. There will also be opportunities to look for wildflowers!

Carpools leave from the Hollywood Grocery Outlet, 4420 Ne Hancock Street, (a few blocks from the Hollywood Transit Center, at the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver. If you would like to arrange a meet-up closer to the forest, please let us know by giving us a call at our number below.
