Rally for the Collawash River

Date:
Wednesday, May 7, 2014 - 1:00pm

The Forest Service wants to re-construct 11 miles of already decommissioned roads in the recovering Collawash River watershed and log 2,000 acres of Mt. Hood National Forest. After a U.S. District Court judge rubber-stamped the Forest Service's decision, it is up to us to demand, "NOT ONE MORE MUDDY MILE!"

WHAT: Rally for the Collawash River!
We're going to have some fun while reminding the Forest Service that it should protect our public land, not muddy our rivers.

WHERE: Mt. Hood Forest Service Headquarters (16400 Champion Way, Sandy, OR 97055)

Take the Bus! The free Cool Bus leaves at noon from the parking lot across the street from the Bark office (205 SE Grand Ave, Suite 207, Portland, OR 97214). We will return by 3pm. RSVP for your spot on the Cool Bus to meredith @ bark-out.org.

The rally is accessible by public transit! The Sandy Area Metro (SAM) connects with the TriMet system at 12:30pm at Gresham TC, which is on the MAX blue line. Shuttle cost is $1. Get off 15 min later at the Hwy 26 & 362nd SAM stop, which is just around the corner from the Forest Service Headquarters. A return trip leaves from there at 2:06pm.

BRING: Friends, signs, musical instruments, lunch, water. We will be near Hwy 26, so be cautious with dogs and small children.
