The Highland Fling Timber Sale yet another Bureau of Land Management logging project proposed along a popular hiking trail destination. This project is in direct conflict with the goals of the newly formed Molalla River Alliance, a group of concerned citizens in the Molalla area who would like to see the Salem District BLM put a higher premium on recreation, than on destructive timber sales. across hiking trails (such as the Pacific Crest Trail) and across two proposed off-highway vehicle designated areas.
From I-205, take Exit 12A towards Estacada. Follow 224 east towards Mt. Hood. Just after passing through the town of Estacada, there is a turn on the right for Road 211. Units for this proposed logging project are on either side of 211, accessible by roads turning from 211. One of the units is back on 224, approx. five miles after the 211 turnoff and the first left after the Silver Fox Campground. The timber sale project area is located between the City of Colton and the City of Estacada.
